Olvita

Olvita is the production- and trade company of pre-treated fresh and frozen vegetables and fruit of Olviya Group, based in Ukraine. These products fit the customers demands for convenience and quality products. With these products Olvita aims to supply Ukraine ’s new urban upper and middle class consumers their daily fresh vegetables and fruit.

Olvita’s main activities are:

• Production of IQF frozen vegetables and fruit for the local and international market.
• Supply range of fresh and frozen products to the wholesale and retail market.
• Construct and develop the logistic centre with freezer storage and fresh storage capacity.

In 2004 Olvita had the first trial period for marketing of their entire range of deep-frozen fruit and vegetables. Presently their products are available in some 70 supermarkets and are also supplied to fast food chains and the horeca sector. Moreover Olvita has started to export their products to Rusia, the Netherlands and Israel .

In 2005 Olvita expanded into the processing of deep frozen and fresh salads. In the last 12 months Olvita has gained huge contracts with Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine, Velyka Kyshenya and Billa for the daily supply of both deep frozen and fresh salads, vegetables, herbs and berries.

Beside the production and processing of vegetables and fruit Olvita develops its own cold store facilities. Having the experience in processing, storage and logistics of fresh and deep frozen goods in Western Europe , Olvita made a strategic decision to enter the Ukrainian market of “third party logistics for temperature-controlled foodstuffs”.

Considering the fact that the main problem in most countries of Eastern Europe is the lack of temperature-controlled storage for foodstuffs, by developing the modern cold storage centre Olvita will be able to meet in the consumer needs and wishes regarding this matter. The rapid growth of supermarkets and the increasing demand for deep frozen foodstuffs in a wider variety explains why an increasing shortage of cold storage has arisen in the last few years and our strategic decision with respect to this.
